Stefano Amerighi's wines were born out of a desire to produce a great Syrah through the application of the family's farming traditions, passion, knowledge of the wine world and the practice of biodynamics. To achieve this goal, Stefano Amerighi bought vineyards in Chiuso di Cortona, called Poggiobello di Farneta.
A climatic and geological survey carried out on the farm has confirmed that this is the suitable terroir for planting Syrah vines, personally and carefully selected in Valle del Rodano by Stefano himself. The grapes are grown according to biodynamic agriculture. Working in the vineyard follows the lunar and planetary phases. This is done to mature healthy bunches and allow a vinification that is completely free of corrective and chemical products. After removing the stems, part of the grapes is kept whole and another part is lightly pressed with the foot and placed manually in small concrete vats without the use of pumps. Fermentation takes place spontaneously, with natural yeasts, without sulfur and controlled temperature. The wine lasts 14 months in wooden and cement vats and the wine is bottled without filtration or stabilization. The syrahs are among the best in Italy.
