It all started at Quinta do Regueiro in 1988, when the first 100% alvarinho vineyard, 0.3 hectares, was planted. The next 10 years were spent planting new plots of land up to 3 hectares. At that time they produced some crops for their own consumption. In 1999 the Quinta do Regueiro brand was born, the first harvest came on the market from the son of the owners, Paolo Rodrigues Regueiro, then 23 years old. With an enormous passion and dedication to the area, he fulfilled his dream of becoming a wine producer.
Today Quinta do Regueiro consists of a series of small terraced plots with a subsoil of weathered granite that retains the heat well. Its location is south, so that they can take full advantage of the heat from the sun. They work here with regional grapes, but not with pergolas. The canes are planted in regular rows and are guided along a wire. This results in optimally ripe grapes that give the wines a special power and a lot of character. The words 'dedication' and 'quality', year after year, are the keys to the prestige already achieved. The Regueiro farm has had the ability to innovate over the years, bringing new and successful wine profiles to the market.
